    Medium voltage cable with copper belt performance of product and process design
    General Description of the Design: The design is conducted on the basis of medium-pressure cable which utilizes the products’ characteristics from red copper.It is calculated and researched in the way of practical survey such as Chinalo Shanghai copper co.,LTD.also, I have consulted with some engineers guiding me to observe the equipments of the factory, which have done a great help to look into the concrete inner materials in the company.
    The medium-pressure cables dominantly focus on cables which are 35KV below. Used in the manufacture of cable are mainly copper and aluminum cable,and the purpose of this design USES copper cable and the reason is:1. Low resistivity. 2. Good ductility: extending rate of 20 to 40% of the copper alloy. 3. High strength.4. The antifatigue: Aluminum repeated bending rupture easily, copper is not easy. Elastic indicators, copper is about 1.7 ~ 1.7 times higher than aluminum.5. Good stability and corrosion resistance: copper oxidation and corrosion resistance. Due to the above differences in physical properties, on the application, copper core cable has more advantages than al core cable: 1. Carrying capacity is big.2. Low voltage loss.3. Low heating temperature: in the same electrical flow, with the cross section of copper core of calorific value is smaller than the aluminum core cable, makes the operation more safety.4.Low energy consumption: due to the low resistivity of copper, al cable compared to copper cable power loss is low, it is obvious. This is helpful to improve the utilization rate of power generation and protect the environment.5. Oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, copper core cable connector performance is stable, not an accident due to oxidation.6. Construction is convenient. Therefore, copper cable in the cable power supply, especially in underground cable power supply areas, has outstanding advantages.
    This design according to the product USES the research method is the TU2 copper. Standard: (GB/T 5231-2001) ,the advantage of oxygen and low impurity content, high purity, conductive, thermal conductivity, excellent, good ductility, hydrogen permeability rate is low, no "disease" or rarely hydrogen "disease"; Processing performance and corrosion resistance of welding, cold resistance are good. Size of raw material is 170mm×630mm×5100mm, the finished product size is 0.6mm×600mm×1000mm, volume weight 3.204kg. Delivery status to hard mode. This design mainly elaborated the TU2 production technical requirements and key production processes (melting, casting, milling, rolling, annealing, etc.) of the process characteristics. According to Chinalco Shanghai copper co., LTD., the existing production process and product, the product production making, rolling system of the melting process, roller type system formulation, motor ability, roll strength, respectively, in the design process using computer software, Visual Basic programming language for the rolling force and rolling torque calculation program compiled, using computer Auto CAD software, to draw roll figure.
