摘  要：本文采用的是苏州市1993年~2013年统计数据，对苏州市土地利用特征进行研究，同时还分析了苏州市耕地面积的区域差异及其变化过程，用定量分析的方法对苏州市耕地资源变化和经济发展关系进行分析，通过分析得到的结果，可以对不同经济发展水平的耕地占用量进行估算。结果显示：①苏州市的土地开发强度相对较大，所以综合产出率比较高；耕地面积减少速度快，人均耕地面积只有0.0309hm2，远远低于全国水平；②在近20年里，苏州市的耕地面积迅速减少，耕地面积和人均耕地面积都经历了缓慢减少—急剧减少—缓慢减少这三个变化过程；③随着经济发展水平的提高，经济发展模式由粗放型转向集约型；④耕地资源面积随着人均GDP的增加呈阶段性减少。63192

1  前言 

人类的生存离不开土地，当今世界所面临的几大难题无一不和土地有关系，例如人口、资源、环境等。土地资源有限，所以在进行土地开发时必须合理开发和利用，这样才能实现社会、经济的可持续发展[1]。中国是典型的发展中国家，人地矛盾已经越来越明显，人均耕地面积水平较低，主要原因是因为在经济快速发展的过程中，人口数量不断增加，协调人地关系已经刻不容缓了。面对有限的土地资源，必须合理开发利用。近几年，有一些学者选择一些比较典型的地区进行研究，研究这些地区耕地面积变化过程与经济发展的关系，取得了不少进展[2-4]。
