Abstract
Selinker proposed the idea of "interlanguage" in 1972, which was used to explain the stages of Second Language Acquisition (SLA).A phenomenon is always being paid attention by researchers in the course of research on interlanguage一fossilization. Fossilization is a universal phenomenon in interlanguage development. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers in the field of applied linguistics nowadays.
Based on the researches at home and abroad, the author makes an empirical study on interlanguage fossilization in English writing of 113 college English majors respectively from Tongji University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Shanghai Normal University and Shanghai Institute of Technology.
Then the author tries to investigate the possible causes of fossilization by analyzing the samples from the objects. On the basis of the analyses of the causes, the author has put forward some tentative suggestions to avoid or reduce fossilization.
This study seeks to achieve two purposes: (1) to find out the similarities of errors in English writing and prove that language fossilization is a universal phenomenon even among college English majors. (2) To put forward some de-fossilizing strategies based on the results of the analysis.
This thesis not only enriches the literature of interlanguage fossilization in empirical study but also provides some important insights for college English teaching in the future.

摘要Selinke于1972年提出了“中介语”(Interlanguage)并用其来阐释第二语言习得的过程。在中介语研究过程中,僵化((Fossilization)现象引起了学者的注意。僵化是中介语发展过程中的一个普遍现象,近年来,这一现象己经引起了应用语言学领域中诸多学者的广泛重视。
在国内外语言学家研究的基础上,本文作者对来自同济大学,上海对外经贸大学,上海师范大学以及上海应用技术学院的113位英语专业大一和大三学生在英语写作中的僵化现象进行了实证性研究。通过对受试者作文的错误分析,作者证实了在即使是英语专业大学生的写作,也同样存在僵化现象。然后作者通过向受试者分发问卷分析了中介语僵化现象的原因。在上述分析的基础上,本文提出了缓解僵化现象的几点建议。21171
本研究主要有两个目的:(1)发现大学一年级和大学三年级受试者在英语写作中存在难以克服的共同类型的错误进而证明僵化现象存在于英语专业大学生中,且非个例。(2)基于样本分析的结果,提出一些克服和缓解僵化现象的策略。
