2 Americanism Embodied in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
2.1 Quest for Freedom
In Mark Twain’s works, Adventures of Hackberry Finn has been one of the most influential novels which is known as USA modern literature source. For many years, people have explored this novel from various perspectives such as the new criticism, feminism, right of the black, humanities and cultural fields, and so on. The novel is set in the background in the 1840s of the southern United States, thus giving profound cultural connotation of the novel. It inevitably reveals an image of the US with Southern culture, as well as the life in that area. The qualities and characteristics of the residents in the novel reflect the typical Americanism.
