What is more, many researches (Elks 1985, Chaudron 1988, and Cervantes and 1992) on repetition have shown that speaker's self-repetition help listener understand better。 Therefore, self-repetition plays an important role in communicative device。

Chapter 3 Methodology

    In this chapter, it mainly reports the methodology of this study。 Research questions, research samples and research methods will be given based on the previous theories。

3。1 Research questions

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the use of classroom instructions of English educational students in Zhejiang Province, putting forward some suggestions on the use of CI in the EFL classroom from them。 There are three main questions which will be studied here。

1。 What strategies are taken while the CI is given by the EES?

2。 What strategies are taken after the CI is given by the EES?

3。 What kind of ineffective CI they often give?

The study of the first and the second questions need researchers to find out the features and characters of CI they give in the class。 After the features are given researchers can have a further study about what strategies these English educational students have adopted in their classes while giving and after giving CI。 The third question is based on the study of ineffective CI they have given in the classes。 Some suggestions will be proposed through the study of this question。

3。2 Research samples

The samples of this study are the transcripts from videos of English educational students’ class in the competition of Zhejiang province。 This competition is about the teaching skills of English educational students in Zhejiang province。 Many students from different schools took part in this competition。 In this thesis, 17 superior videos which won the prizes are selected as samples。 These samples represent almost the highest teaching level of EES in Zhejiang province。 Although that is almost the only source, there are still many other factors needed to pay attention to。 People judge whether the CI is effective or not mostly by observations of the performance and reactions of students after they receive CI。 Things like teachers’ body language also make a difference to the comprehension of students。 So this research is based on the studies of videos and transcripts。 Thus, also there are not many research sources, there are still many factors needed to observe。 

This research is a gather of case studies。 The classes in the videos all happened in natural context without any interventions。 Based on this situation, further analysis will be given。 In order to give a reliable data of this research, 17 videos of EES in Zhejiang province are chosen for the study。 All of the teachers in the videos are English educational students in Zhejiang province。 And these videos can be pided into 3 groups: primary sections, secondary sections and senior sections。 All of the transcripts are the true reflection of the videos without any distortion or any other words from researchers。 And the CI in the teacher talk will be only emphasized。 Analysis will be given after the observations and transcripts。来自优Q尔W论E文R网wWw.YouERw.com 加QQ75201.8766

3。3 Research methods

There are some methods needed to be used in this study。 This is a qualitative study which aims at find the similarities and differences and something regular in the samples。 Feathers like the pauses and speech rates in phonetic strategies need to be observed and get a conclusion。 The most important method is case study。 Firstly, literature survey is needed。 There have been many scholars who have studied this topic, so there is need to study their thoughts and then give new points。 Therefore, literature survey can help us to learn the ideas that have been shown in the past studies。 And on the other hand the author can also develop her own thoughts in the literature survey。 The author will refer to some books and papers to know the current situation of CI applied by English Educational Students in Zhejiang Province like Application of Multimedia Assisted Instruction (MAI) in Junior High Schools English Classroom Teaching。 Secondly, the author will do this topic by studying the videos of some normal school students’ teaching competition in Zhejiang province and make comparison to find out the characteristics and principles of effective classroom instruction。 Then the author is going to work out some strategies and skills to avoid misunderstanding。 Finally, a conclusion is to be made to clarify her statements on the whole research work。 The author has collected some reference books and papers with abundant information which are about the subject of the thesis。 On the other hand, the author has studied the CI used in competition videos, analyze their features and take some notes。 The author also has come up with the layout and arrangement of my paper。 With the tentative ideas, the author plans to discuss it with her supervisor and tries to get some advice and information about the feasibility of her research and ways of paper writing
