Under the circumstances, the thesis focuses on the cultivation of the junior school students’ English learning interest in order to improve their learning efficiency。 Through the studies of the Learning Theory of S。 D。 Krashen’ Affective Filter Hypothesis and John M。 Keller’s ARCS Motivation Model, the author designed the questionnaire。 By analyzing the data collected through the questionnaire, the author attempts to find the factors that will affect students’ interest in English learning。 Then some suitable methods and effective suggestions are put forward so as to develop students’ learning interest on English teaching。

2。1 Definitions文献综述

Pan Shu pointed out in his book Educational Psychology that “Learning interest reflects inpidual positivity and subjective initiative in learning process。 It can motivate students to explore continuously to obtain more relative cultural knowledge and stimulate their intense desire to probe。 Students also have agreeable emotion in this process” (Pan 76)。 

Based on the point mentioned above, in this thesis, learning interest is defined as a positive emotional experience that emerge from the interaction between a person and an activity, behaves as understanding substances, exploring truth and engaging in certain activities。
