2。2 Studies on affective factors in China文献综述
Confucius has a teaching idea of happy learning。 Confucius once said that People who know it are no better than those who love it; those who love it are no better than the ones who are eager to know it。 It shows the importance of happy learning。 Since the Reform and Opening-up, Chinese scholars who are influenced by western educators have begun to study the influence of affective factors on language learning。 A famous educator who put forward the theory of teaching of affection and cognition believed that teaching objectives should be the unity of cognitive and emotional goals (Leng 55-61)。 He emphasized that students’ cognition and emotional psychology should be harmonious in order to cultivate students’ qualities。 It is necessary for teachers to know students’ mental activities and try to help students keep positive attitudes towards foreign language learning (Zhu 328-338)。 Educator demonstrated his practice, theory, strategy and application of affective education (Wei&Li 79)。 Affection plays a role in teaching activities everywhere, especially in classroom activities (Zhou 63-66)。 Affective factors have an indirect but permanent influence on teaching。 There is a high stability in the relationship among motivation, concept and strategy。 Motivation affects concept and in turn concept influences strategy (Wen 105-110)。
More and more attention has been paid to the study of affective teaching, which is the corollary of educational reform and development。 Affective training objectives have been regarded as an important content of National English Curriculum。 A lot of people are discussing the functions of affective factors in education teaching, even some research fields are exploring emotional problems in education。 It can be expected that affective teaching will be favored by more and more wise men and study on affective teaching will be valued by more and more experts and scholars。 There is no doubt that affective education will become a necessary part of quality education in the twenty-first century and an inevitable trend of educational innovation。
3。 Categories and Definitions of Affective Factors
As we all know, there are some important factors of affective teaching in English teaching。 And the most important part in affective teaching is affective factors。 The main affective factors in English learning are motivation, anxiety, attitude and personality。
