     The novel's author O。 Henry is one of the world's three masters of short stories。 He emphasizes that people from all classes of life have the right to pursue happiness and a better life。The Gift of the Magi is a highly representative work of O。 Henry。In this story, it describes the beauty of the quality of the lower classes of the United States, and they are kindhearted, but survive in a difficult environment。 The story also reveals the social reality of the United States, uneven distribution of wealth and inequality among human beings。
