摘 要认知心理学来源已久,是最新的心理学分支之一。当代认知心理学自20世纪50年代以来取得了丰富的研究成果,成为当代心理学发展的主流。在现代,有许多国内外学者都对认知心理学理论做了深刻的研究。本文从认知心理学的角度出发,运用认知心理学的相关理论,采用文献研究法和调查法等方法,全面阐释了认知心理学理论在中学英语教学中的应用和影响。根据研究得出认知心理学理论通过充分发挥学生智力的作用,能够提高学生的整体素质,并且对于提高中学英语教学质量具有非常重要的作用。33775

Abstract Cognitive Psychology is one of the new branches of psychology with a long history. Contemporary cognitive psychology has made great research findings since 1950s, which has become the mainstream of the development of contemporary psychology. In modern times, there are many domestic and foreign scholars who have made profound researches on the theory of cognitive psychology. From the perspective of cognitive psychology, this paper uses the relevant theories of cognitive psychology, and adopts the method of literature research, survey method and other methods, to comprehensively expound the application and influence of cognitive psychology on middle school English teaching. Based on the study, it turns out that the theory of cognitive psychology can improve the overall quality of students and plays a very important role in enhancing the quality of English teaching in middle schools through giving full play to students’ intelligence.

In recent years, with the appearance of large number of disciplinary learning, it has largely enhanced the relationship among different subjects. And combining cognitive science with English teaching has become a new trend, especially applying the principles of cognitive psychology to all aspects of English teaching, such as the research of learners’ learning motivation, learning methods, learning experience and all the factors which affect academic record. With the rapid development of modern society and the requirements of educational reform, cognitive psychology will more and more influence our educational concept, curriculum structure, teaching mode, teaching evaluation and examination mode. What’s more, with the fast processes of reform and opening-up, the key to the improvement of the level of universal English learning, that is to say, improving English teaching task is of great urgency. As a result, it is quite necessary to discuss the application of theory of cognitive psychology to ELT in middle schools, which is not only a breakthrough to the level of English teaching in China, but also sets a good example in applying cognitive psychology to other subjects teaching and improving the overall teaching level. The course of English, which is as a study of strange language, has been the difficulty and the focus of education. However, cognitive psychology can perfectly cover the shortage of contemporary English education in the aspects of thought and cognitive field. Especially in recent years, the success from combining the theory of cognitive psychology with English teaching has made itself of great educational interest, which gradually becomes a new trend in English teaching. Therefore, discussing how to correctly apply cognitive psychology to English teaching in middle schools can greatly promote the development and progress of English teaching and research.
