摘 要在现代小说中，劳伦斯的作品具有非常重要的意义，他的小说取材于自身的生活经历,作品具有十分鲜明的个人特性,这与其出身家庭环境和社会环境有着密不可分的联系。本文重要对劳伦斯作品里面的女性形象进行分析，揭示不同女性形象的成因。从而让我们更深的了解到作为女性应该怎样追求自己的生活，实现自己的价值。女性要敢于直视现实，勇于改变自己的处境追求自己想要的生活，不要在爱情和婚姻中迷失自己，寻找自己内心深处自己真正想要的幸福，掌握自己的命运。37071

Abstract Lawrence’s works have great significance in modern novels. Based on his own life experiences, his works have very distinctive personal characteristics, which are closely related to his family environment and social environment. This paper mainly discusses typical female images in Laurence’s fiction, and reveals causes contributing to the female images. And it enables us to learn more that women should know how to pursue their own life and achieve their own value. Women should have the courage to change the reality, pursue the real life they want, and never lose themselves in love or marriage, seeking the real happiness in the depth of their hearts and mastering their own fate.

I. Introduction
David Herbert Lawrence was one of the most important British writers in the 20 century and perhaps, the greatest from a working family. He is also a most disputable author in British literature. The major concern of his novels consists in the tracing of the psychological development of his characters and in his energetic criticism of the dehumanizing effect of the capitalist industrialization on human nature. He holds that human sexuality is the dominating “Life Force”, and defiantly and frankly describes scenes of sex. He shapes a series of female images frequently discussed and commented by thousands of readers, critics and publishers. But actually his works, taken together, represent an extended reflection upon the dehumanizing effect of modernity and industrialization. His life was only a short 45 years, with ten novels, seven novellas, about fifty short stories. His novel was about people’s real life experience. His works have very distinctive personal characteristics, belonging to the category of realist literature. His works are the description of daily life, real people, real social relationships, and the true contradiction feelings with different characters and locations. His novels are full of sad moods; in his works we can also find the shadow of life at that time. Lawrence is perhaps best known for his novels Sons and Lovers, The Rainbow, Women in Love and Lady Chatterley’s Lover. Within these Lawrence explores the possibilities for life and living within an industrial setting. In particular Lawrence is concerned with the nature of relationships that can be had within such setting. Though often classified as a realist, Lawrence’s creation of characters can be better understood with reference to his philosophy. His depiction of sexual activity, though shocking at the time, has its roots in this highly personal way of thinking and being. We can see that the women around him had a great influence on his work. In the female relations, Laurence found the source of creation, also obtained the basic materials, therefore his works described many different female images. So the female images in his works have become the object of study by Chinese and foreign researchers for a time.
