摘 要在新的课程改革中,我国明确提出要用多种方法来促进小学生的英语学习。因此,在小学英语课堂上,老师要适当运用姿势语。本文,将通过文献资料研究和访谈法来阐述小学英语教学中姿势语的定义、分类、功能、运用以及它的意义。通过具体分析,可以得出姿势语在小学英语教学中起着必不可少的作用。所以,恰当运用姿势语不仅能培养学生的课堂参与积极性,而且还能激发学生的英语学习兴趣。40513

Abstract
In the reform of new curriculum, my country definitely proposes that it is important to improve students’ English with as many methods as possible in primary school English teaching. Therefore, teachers need to utilize body language appropriately in primary school English classes. In this paper, it will analyze the definition, the classification, the function, the application and the significance of body language in primary school English teaching through literature research and interview method. It can be concluded that body language plays an essential role in primary school English teaching by concrete analysis. Therefore, using body language properly not only develops students’ enthusiasm in the classes, but also inspires their interest in English learning.

I. Introduction
With the continuous reform of primary school English teaching and learning methods, many ways of teaching are used in primary school English teaching. Body language is a useful way in primary school English teaching. About the research of body language, it can be traced back to Greece period. The philosopher Aristotle got the information about people expressing their minds and hopes by using their postures in this era. But it is the most famous professor, Birdwhistell, who comes from a celebrated university in Pennsylvania started to make a systematic research. He published a book “Introduction to behavior manner to learn” and advanced “behavior manner to learn” principle in due form in 1952. Writers, socialists, businessman, educators and so on also made studies on body language. Albert Mehrabian is a psychologist in the United States. He got a conclusion that facial expressions and actions in the class information transmission is the most important. From this study, it can be noticed that body language plays a key role in English teaching. It not only helps to improve students’ classroom study and to consolidate their knowledge, but also strengthens the relationship between teachers and students. What is more, it also creates a good learning atmosphere that teachers and students learn from each other. Therefore, this paper will give a clear interpretation of the significance and the application of body language in English teaching in primary schools.
