    摘 要节日是人们为适应生产和生活的需要而创造的一种民俗文化。节日文化已成为促进中西文化交流和融合的重要媒介。本文以中国的春节和西方的圣诞节为例,以文献为基础,收集相关资料,采用对比分析的方法研究二者的文化差异,从而进一步了解西方社会并借鉴其优秀的文化成分,以促进我国的经济和文化的发展与繁荣,保护和弘扬中华民族的文化精髓,最终达到人们继承和发扬中华民族的优秀传统文化的目的。40798

    Abstract    Festival is kind of culture created by people to meet the needs of production and household use. The festival culture has been an important media to promote the exchange and integration between the China and the West. This paper takes the Spring Festival and Christmas as examples. According to the documents research, relevant date collection, and the way of using contrastive analysis, it aims at finding the cultural differences. Thus people can have a more particular knowledge of western society and use its excellent cultural elements for reference. It is good for promoting the development and flourish of Chinese economy and culture, protecting and developing Chinese nation’s culture essence. Finally people can achieve the goal of inheriting and developing the excellent traditional culture of Chinese nation.

    The Analysis of Differences Between Chinese and Western Festival Culture —— Illustrated by the Case of Spring Festival and Christmas

    I. Introduction

     The world of culture is colorful, so does the description of culture. Festival is a cultural phenomena, and it shows a nation’s historical-cultural consciousness completely. Festival culture is a kind of historical culture. It is a kind of national culture which is formed and developed in the long process of history by a country or a nation. It is a national customs too. Profound moral can be found in it. Some of them were created in memory of an important historical figure, an important historical event to celebrate the coming of a season and so on, such as the Chinese Spring Festival, International Labor Day, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and so on.
    Although there are a lot of differences in festival culture between China and the West in the 21st century, on the background of globalization people can use all kinds of media to get a frequent and deep communication and understanding between each other better. For example, in China, people can see more and more families using beautiful Christmas trees to decorate their doorway on Christmas Day. And walk along the district, almost all of the shops are sticked with photos of Father Christmas. Shops are all decorated with colorful lanterns which are painted with words like “Merry Christmas!”. All of these can attract more customers, and get sales promotion. It becomes a special cultural atmosphere of festival and a necessary sales skill.
