First of all, I would like to thank my supervisor Ms. Lin from the bottom of my heart. From the selection and confirmation of my thesis to repeated modification and embellishment, she was quite careful and responsible and always helped me to broaden my scope of mind. It’s beyond all doubt that I could complete my thesis so smoothly and make it reach its present form with the constant encouragement and instructive guidance of my supervisor.
Secondly, it’s quite necessary for me to express my profound gratitude to Professor , our mentor who was so amiable and aggressive in his daily life and academic education that he could always encourage me unconsciously like a close friend in the past few years. I dare say that he is an indispensable role in my life of college. And I am also indebted to all the teachers at the Department of English who have impart me much knowledge and help.
Last but not the least, I should express my sincere gratitude to all my family members for their spiritual support for the reason that they don’t give me so much pressure on my work that I can concentrate on my thesis. Abstract
This thesis focuses on going into seriously some guides and their roles in the growing path of the protagonist, illuminating the inner redemption and humanistic return. This thesis will be helpful to evaluate the importance of growth in the growing path of the protagonist, and enables us to have a better understanding and deeper comprehension of characteristics of personal growth, and a comprehension of Khaled Hosseini from a growing point of view and influence in most teenagers.
Starting with the personal psychological redemption and growth experience of the protagonist, this thesis discusses how Amir abandons the morality of selfishness and egotism inwardly and mentally step by step pushed by much outside force; how Amir moves towards humanity goodness from childishness and how Amir adheres to rightful nobly morals not fearing the brutal force when confronted with the evil. Firstly, from the aspect of the kite’s symbol, this thesis analyzes the symbolic meanings of the kite. Secondly, from the aspect of character, this thesis analyzes the character of Hassan from the perspective of prototype of scapegoat. Thirdly, from the aspect of perspective of redemption and humanity return, this thesis interprets the novel from the prospective of redemption and humanity return, and discusses the contradiction between friendship.

摘要本文通过关注在主人公成长道路上出现的一些具有指导意义的人和他们在其中所扮演的角色来证明主人公的自我救赎和其人性的回归。本文不仅向读者证明了在主人公成长之路上成长过程的重要性，还让我们能够从一个成长的角度以及对青少年的影响上来对人物成长中出现的一些角色和作者本人胡塞尼有一个很深的了解。
本文以书中主人公个人心理上的救赎和成长的经历来讨论阿米尔是如何一步一步地在外界的推动下抛弃自私自大的面目；如何从幼稚走向人类的美好品质以及如何当再次面对恶势力表现出无所畏惧、坚持正义和高贵的品质。首先，本文从意向角度来分析风筝所象征的意向；其次，本文从替身的模型来分析哈桑这个角色；最后，本文从自我救赎和人性的回归的角度来讨论友谊之间的矛盾。
