Compared with the West, research on cooperative principle in China obviously began much later. A Chinese pragmatist Hu Zhuanglin brought, for the first time, CP to china in 1980 first and published a book called “pragmatics” (1983), which mentions the theory of CP and the related maxims of CP. From then on, CP has gained its popularity among Chinese pragmatists and more attention has been paid on it.
