摘要本文旨在探讨语码转换对于网络互动的作用。本文研究了新浪微博中英语码转换现象的动因。从新浪2012年12月到2013年4月的微博中随机选择了20条含有中英语码转换的微博作为分析对象，以Verschueren的顺应论为基础，按照学者于国栋的语码转换顺应模式，对其产生原因进行分析，经研究数据发现微博的中英语码转换现象主要产生于对心理动机的顺应，包括获得认可、制造幽默、进行强调、标明身份、获得满足、趋吉避讳等，其次是对语言现实的顺应以及对社会规约的顺应。67141

Title  Study of Motivaion of Chinese-English Code-Switching on SinaWeibo

Abstract

This paper is aimed at exploring motivations of Chinese-English Code-switching on Sina Weibo. Based on Verschueren’ Linguistic Adaptation Theory and Yu Guodong’s Adaptation Model of Code-switching, the paper analyzes twenty weibos selected randomly from micro blogs on SinaWeibo from December, 2012 to April, 2013. It is found that code-swtiching on Chinese-English on SinaWeibo is statistically prominent in the category of adaptation of mental motivation including gaining recognition, creating humor, highlighting, implicit expression and avoiding taboo; and secondly prominent distribution is in the category of adaptation to social convention and category of  adaptation to linguistic reality.

1 Introduction

In the background of globalization, the different cultures communicate and blend more frequently and code-switching has been playing a necessary role in social interaction as well as the Internet communication. It is worthy to study continuously why code-switching takes place and what it means to modern social interaction.  Based on Linguistic Adaptation Theory and Yu Guodong’s Adaptation Model of Code-switching, the thesis intends to study the motivation of Chinese-English code-switching on the SinaWeibo, which is an emerging network interactive platform of China and gets a better understanding of contribution of code-switching to Internet interaction.
