Abstract As a strong way in boosting cross-cultural communication, movies are deeply affecting our daily life and perception。 Therefore, an increasing number of experts and scholars start to place considerable emphasis on studying subtitle translation。 Until today, the scholars’ theories can’t satisfy the need of the translators to guide their translating activities。 Currently, the researches both at home and abroad are inclined to be experiential, prescriptive and linguistic。 However, there are not enough systematic and practical theories from cultural perspective on subtitle translation。 The importance of its cultural role has not been paid due attention in the translating activities。 Through detailed analysis on a number of lines selected from the movie Jurassic World, this thesis is intended to arouse more attention on the culture elements contained in subtitle translation and offer some insights from the dimensions of social culture, religious culture and linguistic culture。74471

摘要作为一种强有力的文化传播途径，电影对我们的日常生活和观念等产生着深远的影响。因此,越来越多的专家和学者开始强调电影字幕研究。时至今日，学者们所提出的理论仍无法满足翻译活动的实际需要。目前，无论国内国外，对于电影字幕的翻译还都局限于经验式和规定性的总结，还大都是从语言学或语用学的角度着手。然而，从文化角度分析字幕翻译的系统性和实用性理论还很欠缺。在翻译活动中，对于它的重要文化作用重视较少。通过对电影《侏罗纪世界》的台词翻译进行分析，本文旨在激发起更多人关注电影字幕翻译中的文化因子，并从社会文化、宗教文化和语言文化视角提供一些见解。

1。 Introduction

As cross-cultural communication between China and other countries becomes frequent and goes deeper, an increasing number of foreign movies and TV series have flooded into the domestic market。 Among them, American movies and TV series are widely accepted out of their special fascination。 Owing to the most extensive coverage of the English language, nowadays, numerous young Chinese people are inclined to enjoy the original show with translated subtitles, which they regard as a fashion and an effective way of learning English and understanding foreign cultures。 Therefore, translated subtitles, serving as a bridge between the original show and the target receptors, have become increasingly significant。 As one of the major types of audiovisual translation, subtitling has become a hot subject in translation studies in recent years。 Nevertheless, when set against the traditional translation researches, subtitle translation theory pales into insignificance, far from mature and systematic。
