Abstract The paper is based on the related studies of grammar teaching theories and different strategies。 It starts with two general views towards grammar teaching。 Considering both of the opinions are too extreme, the writer points out that the two opinions actually do not conflict with each other and grammar teaching should be given proper focus on。 This is followed by the explanation of grammar, the importance and necessity of grammar teaching。 Directed against the current situation, that is, both the students and teachers think grammar as a boring and hard work, the writer of this paper analyses the disadvantages of the traditional teaching pattern and the popular communicative pattern which is advocated by many scholars nowadays。 Then the writer shows some favorable new methods that can make grammar teaching more interesting, and the grammatical content which can facilitate language learning but has been neglected for many years。 Through the introduction of these strategies, the writer arrives at the conclusion that so long as the teacher can apply the teaching methods properly, the seemingly boring grammar can be fun。75365

摘要本文以不同语法教学理论及策略的相关研究为基础,首先介绍了有关语法教学的两种不同观点。考虑到这两种观点都过于极端,作者指出这两种观点其实并不矛盾,而且语法教学应被给予足够的重视。在这一思想的指导下,作者阐述了语法的意义、内涵以及学习语法的重要性和必要性。针对当前语法教学中师生都感到困难厌倦的现象,作者分析了当前语法教学模式的弊端以及为很多学者所倡导的交际法教学模式的弊端。接着作者介绍了一些语法教学的新方法,以及能够促进语言学习但多年来却被忽视的语法内容。根据对这些策略的介绍,作者认为只要教师运用合理的方法,看似枯燥的语法也能生动有趣。

1。 Introduction
Grammar teaching has always seemed to be a controversial issue in English teaching。 The debate mainly centered around these questions: whether grammar should be taught in class or not? And how? Since grammar teaching is an integral and important part of language learning, traditional English class treats it as the most essential part。 However, with the popularity of communicative teaching method, many scholars hold that grammar teaching is out of date, and English class gradually gives up grammar teaching, focusing on the teaching of language skills and language competence。 All these various changes put teachers in a dilemma。 And what theory should they believe then? According to the author, both these two theories are extreme, and grammar teaching does not conflict with the cultivation of communicative competence。 If using the right teaching techniques, serious grammar can be fun。 This paper will briefly review the different views towards grammar teaching, followed by the present situation of grammar teaching and several instructive methods, which is intended to make the teaching process more interesting and effective。
