A Brief Account on the Importance of Emotional Education in English Teaching of Primary School
Chapter One Introduction
1。1 The background
In modern education reform background, emotional education, as an important part of quality education, has not only attracted more and more people's attention, but also become one of the teaching objectives of "compulsory English curriculum standards"。 (2011) This reflects the "people-oriented" educational thought。 "People-oriented" is the essence of the scientific concept of development of education and the starting point for learning and teaching。 The aim of education is to cultivate fully developed people, so modern society requires not only to cultivate rationally sound people, but also emotionally healthy people。 Emotional education is an important aspect in promoting the comprehensive development of people。 We will neither cultivate perfect people, nor will we be able to meet the evolving needs of the society if we just neglect the importance of emotional education。 Carrying out emotional education has a positive meaning for both developing students’ healthy personality and making up the loss of the teaching process。 But for a long time, China's education has put too much emphasis on knowledge and skills, while ignoring the role of emotional factors。 With the deepening of the English curriculum reform, new curriculum standards elaborates "emotional attitude" equivalently to "language skills", "Language knowledge", "learning strategies" and "cultural awareness", putting more attention to students overall development。 But in the actual process of English teaching, there are still many problems。论文网
It is notable that there are many researches on emotional education at all times and in all over the world, but there are very few researches aiming at English teaching of primary school。 Only when the studies specifically focus on students in different stages can it be able to really come into play。 Pupils' emotions are situational, and their emotions act obviously。 The factors like their learning achievements, status in collectivity, and evaluations from classmates or teachers, will make them produce different emotional experiences。 It is very important to develop students' interest in English, to improve their confidence in learning English and to cultivate their sentiment in the initial stage of English learning。 Because these will help them with the production of a lasting and strong interest。
Focusing on the use of positive emotional factors, this paper puts forward some advice on the improvement of English teaching in primary school which is based on the characteristics of pupils。
1。2 The significance and purpose文献综述
As one of the world's common language, English has played a more and more important role in our daily life。 The Chinese government also attaches great importance to the national level of English education, and especially pay attention to cultivating students' English at an early age。 Nowadays, English has become a compulsory course in primary school。 But we could not use the same teaching way between high school students and primary school students because of young students’ psychological immaturity。
Cramming teaching, only from the perspective of cognitive infusion, will limit students’ potential, make great pressure on them, and even cause their fear of learning English。 English teachers must pay great attention to these phenomena。 Only when teachers understand the characteristics of students’ and bring emotional education into play can they change the situation effectively 。
After reviewing literature about the emotional education at home and abroad, as well as analyzing the problems, this paper finds that researches on the application of emotional education in English teaching of primary school are in lack。 So this paper is formed to provide a reference for the studies of emotional education。
