Chapter one Introduction

1。1 Background

Recent decades, in the situation of social life informatization and economic globalization, English, as one of the common language, has become more and more important in education, and language proficiency has become a form aspect of talent quality。 In microcosm, the level of the mastery of English will affect one’s study, work and life in the future。 By the look of great respect, it will affect the improvement of population quality and the development of national economy。 

Home-school cooperation has become certain trend in primary school, but although many schools and parents have realized the importance of it, there are still many negative factors preventing the development of it。

Nowadays, most families have only one child, in which of the situation parents usually overindulge children。 It makes children capricious and intractable。 In other cases, two-worker households have no choice but to entrust children to their grandparents。 The rise of two- worker households brings some problems such as lack of communication and addiction to bad habits。 What’s more, according to the related data, China’s porce rate is increasing year by year, porced families lack of concern and love for children。 All of these can obstruct the communication between family and school in variety degrees, leading to the difficult situation of home-school cooperation。文献综述

With the above background, through investigating and analyzing parents, students and schools three aspects as well as the questionnaire survey, this essay is based on primary English subject to find out what causes the problems of home-school cooperation and finally some solutions are put forward。 

1。2 Significance and purpose

There are small number of studies on home-school cooperation in English learning, so the creative point of this essay is to link home-school cooperation and elementary school English learning from the perspectives of schools, parents and students to explain home-school cooperation’s function and importance。

The great educator Suhomlinski once said: “The effects of education depend on the consistency of family education and school education。 School education will collapse like a house made of paper without the consistency of family education and school education。 And it is impossible to complete the teaching processes and tasks without considering the educating ability of parents。” From what he said, we know the significance of home-school cooperation。
