摘要地形的可视化是一门以研究数字地形模型( Digital Terrain Model, DTM) 和数字高程域( Digital Height Field)的显示、简化、仿真等内容的学科, 它属于计算机图形学的一个分支。除了计算机图形学外,计算几何也是它重要的基础知识。它的应用涉及地理信息系统( GIS) 、虚拟与现实( VR ) 、战场环境仿真、娱乐与游戏、地形的穿越飞行( flythrough) 、土地管理与利用、气象数据的可视化等领域。有多种软件可以进行地形的可视化仿真,而根据实时性等要求和硬件平台的限制,选择MultiGen-Paradigm公司的Creator进行仿真。为此,本文的主要工作包括:65246
(1)阐述了虚拟战场的主要特点以及地形可视化的相关基础技术,重点介绍了基于Creator和基于LOD的仿真建模基础及有关特性。
(2)以现有DEM数据为源数据,结合LOD的特点,建立虚拟战场的描述地形模型。
(3)以某空军轰炸机作战为例,使用Creator仿真软件对历经的地形环境进行建模,并进行仿真。在仿真过程中,对生成地形所使用的算法、地图投影方式和优化地形所使用的LOD、地形纹理等技术进行了实践和评估,结果表明,所建立的模型具有一定的合理性。

Title Research on A virtual battlefield environment terrain visualization technology
Abstract
Terrain visualization is a study that mainly research on Digital Terrain Model’s (DTM) and Digital Height Field’s display, simplification, simulation and etc. it is a branch of computer graphics. In addition to computer graphics, the computational geometry is also its important basics. It involves the application of geographic information systems (GIS), virtual reality (VR), Battlefield Environment Simulation, Fun & Games, flythrough, land management and utilization of meteorological data visualization and other fields. There are many software can be visual simulation terrain, according to real-time requirements and the limit of hardware platforms, we select the software Creator which is developed by the company MultiGen-Paradigm to take the simulation. In this paper, the main tasks include:
(1) Describes the main features of the virtual battlefield and terrain visualization of the underlying technology, focusing on the Creator and the LOD based on simulation modeling foundation and related properties.
(2) Based on the existing DEM data as the data source, we create the described virtual battlefield model, combined with the characteristics of LOD.
(3) Take the air force bombing operation scenario as an example, using the simulation software Creator to build up the modeling and simulation of the terrain environment. In the simulation process, the algorithm used to generate the terrain, terrain map projection methods and optimize the use LOD, terrain texture technology for the practice and the assessment. And the results show that the model in this paper is feasible.
