ABSTRACT MnO is presented as a grass green cubic crystal powder or eight surface crystalsat room temperature ,it is widely used as a catalyst for the production of the alcohol and fatty acid, and the preparation of the raw material of the ferrite material。At present,the preparation methods of MnO mainiy include reduction roasting method and direct reduction leaching method。 Compared with the direct reduction leaching method, roasting method is used in large scale because of its simple equipment and easy preparation。In this paper, MnO2 and C were used as raw materials to prepare MnO under vacuum conditions。 The composition and crystal morphology of the prepared products were analyzed by using XRD and SEM。 The effects of different processing conditions (temperature, baking time, vacuum degree) and different reactant mass ratio on the product were studied to getting best roasting process conditions。 At the same time, the TG-DSC analysis was used to study the thermal decomposition behavior of the mixture of MnO2 and C, and to provide basic data and theoretical basis for the preparation of MnO。 The results showed that the optimum conditions for the preparation of MnO are 5 kpa, 850 ℃, 3 h, and the resulting product is flocculent。
