On the New Development of the Martial Arts Film from The Warlords
Abstract: There is a distinct difference between The Warlords directed by Chen Kexin and stories of “Blood Brother” in the past. Mr Chen focuses on humanity and war, pays attention to the tragedy fate of the lower class in the historical background and the political corruption reflected by the war. He has deepened the theme of the story, and improved the artistic achievement of martial arts film. In addition, the film The Warlords makes the humanity more impressive through fine arts and presents the unique views about the war. The paper will analyze the film The Warlords, especially the fine production of Chinese Martial Arts, to get a more profound understanding of the art in commercial films and more knowledge of the Martial Arts film. Moreover, the potential that Chinese Martial arts film go out of the country and will be presented in the paper, providing a new perspective for its development.

以《投名状》为例看武侠电影的新发展
武侠电影是中国电影中颇具影响力的电影类型，在电影史上留下了精彩的艺术轨迹，在国际上有较高的赞誉。但是最近几年大投入大制作的武侠电影无论是口碑上还是票房上都不尽人意。在这样的背景下，2007年12月上映的《投名状》大获成功，到2008年1月8日累计票房达到2.6亿元，国内票房排行第一，独揽第45届金马届奖中的八项大奖，无论是在票房还是口碑上都让人较为满意，因此对这部电影进行深入的分析和研究是十分有必要的，其与以往的武侠电影相比《投名状》无论在思想内容还是表现形式上都有着独到之处。
一、电影《投名状》中主题的升华
以往的武侠电影都围绕江湖这个主题，描绘江湖的纷争与恩怨，故事情节简单明了，是非善恶的定义十分单一具有浓重的江湖色彩。2007年《投名状》这部电影的出现与以往的武侠电影不同，它透过主角人物悲剧人生的表象揭露出了导致这一悲剧的本质。使这部电影在内容上思想深刻，发人深省，整部影片流露出强烈的人文主义气息。
