2。3 Previous study on the translation of The Daffodils 文献综述
At present, The Daffodils has been translated by Gu Zixin, Guo Moruo, Yang Deyu, Sun Liang and other translators。 Besides, many scholars have analyzed translations of The Daffodils from various aspects, such as from Zeng Pu’s view of translation (He proposes five elements in poetry translation: accurate understanding, similar syllables, spirit of the original poem, suitable genre, fit and accurate words。 (Zeng 335)), meta-functional perspective (It finds that the more thoroughly the translator grasps the metafunction in the original text, the more objective and accurate in the expression of the metafunction can be shown in the target text as well as linguistic features and cultural characteristics (Xia Ⅳ))。 What’s more, there are lots of people applying Three Beauties Principle to Chinese poetry translation。 But few people employ the Three Beauties Principle to compare several translations of English poems, including The Daffodils。 In order to provide people with a new perspective of appreciation, better feel the beauty of poetry, this article will compare and analyze two translations of The Daffodils by Yang Deyu and Sun Liang based on the Three Beauties Principle。
