摘 要本论文以谚语为中心展开研究，通过搜集不同的英汉谚语的相关资料，对谚语进行了分析。随着社会的快速发展，中西方的交流日渐频繁。为了更好地交流，对中西文化的研究必不可少，对中西方交流有很大的意义。这也对英汉谚语的比较研究有一定的现实意义和理论意义。本文首先介绍了谚语产生的背景，研究的目的，研究的意义，以及现阶段对这个话题的研究现状。其次对英汉谚语进行了简单的概述；然后从谚语的定义，形式以及功能等不同角度分别研究了中英文谚语的异同，并对造成这些区别的原因进行了分析；最后得出一个结果，让大家都明白英汉谚语形成的原因以及他们的精要。32883

Abstract This research, which is based on proverbs, analyzes English and Chinese proverbs through collecting some related information. With the rapid development of the society, the communication between China and western countries is becoming more and more frequently. In order to have a better communication, it’s unavoidably to study the culture of western countries and China, which contrubites to communicating and translating. It has lots of practical and theoretical significance on the study about the comparison of English and Chinese proverbs. In this paper, it briefly refers to the productive background of proverbs, the aim and meaning of study and the current situation. The paper researching similaritis and differences of English and Chinese proverbs in terms of the definition, formation and function, analyzes these reasons why it causes the difference. Finally, people can have a better understanding of its essence.

I. Introduction
The surge of culture is part of globalization. After encountering the cultural conflict, most of the people feel tired and helpless. In the opinion, people can benefit from communicating with each other, which contributes to overcoming the cultural obstacles and realizing our dream of building a harmonious world. At this very moment, intercultural communication is necessary. Among the communication, proverbs culture is a small branch, however, it plays an important part. If anyone pays less attention to it, he may be misunderstood. The proverbs are not only the essence of culture, but also the key to communicate. “Proverbs are never out of season”(Mieder, Wolfgang 128)
