    摘要随着国际形势的发展和中国改革开放的不断深入, 外语已成为获取世界科技、文化等信息、提高民族科学文化素质、加强国际交往与合作的重要工具。    在这种情况下, 外语也成为我国学校教学中的一个不可缺少的部分。本文通过定性和定量的方法对小学英语词汇教学的现状进行了研究。 通过研究发现, 国内的小学英语词汇教学中当前的词汇教学方法忽视了指导学生有效地学习和记忆单词,因而小学生学习单词存在极大的困难。基于此, 本文研究了小学英语词汇的学习方法和词汇教学策略, 以期能帮助小学生有效的学习英语词汇。39737

    Abstract With the development of the international situation and the continuous development of China’s reform and opening-up, foreign language has become an important means of obtaining world information of tech-science, culture etc., improving the nation’s quality of science and culture, enhancing international contact and cooperation. Under the circumstances, foreign language also has become a necessary part in China’s school teaching. This paper studies the current situation of English vocabulary teaching and learning in primary schools by qualitative and quantitative approach. The studies find that the current vocabulary teaching methods used in primary school English teaching at home neglect guiding pupils to learn and memorize words efficiently, thus, causing the difficulties for students to learn new words. Based on this, this paper studies the English learning methods and vocabulary teaching strategies of the primary school, so as to help pupils learn English vocabulary effectively.

    I. Introduction

    With the development of economy and society, English has become an essential tool for communication in China now. This makes the primary school English vocabulary teaching to a new stage. In 2001, the Ministry of Education in China issued the Reform Outline of Compulsory Education Curriculum, which clearly demands that primary English education should begin in grade 3. It also demanded that primary school students must be at least four periods of English classes a week. On the one hand, the Chinese government has attached more importance to children’s English education than ever before. On the other hand, the current vocabulary teaching methods used in primary school English teaching at home neglect guiding students to learn and memorize words efficiently, so it is rather difficult for students to learn new words. Therefore, it is very necessary for primary school English teachers to try a variety of methods to help pupils learn and memorize vocabulary with effective learning strategies.
