Abstract As “a master of the contemporary short story” and the Nobel Prize winner of year 2013 in the literature domain, Alice Munro has created numbers of works for the whole world readers. As her last works and also the last short story collection, there are many researches worthy carrying out on Dear Life, which, I believe, could bring much significance for the improvement in modern world literature. In my paper, I am going to present u my research about Alice Munro’s writing style based on Dear Life.

2. Chapter I: The Background of Alice Munro and Dear Life
Alice Munro, “a master of the contemporary short story,” is the 13th female literature laureate of the Nobel Prizes in the year 2013. She is also the winner of the Man Booker International Prize in 2009, three times Canada's highest prize in literature--Governor General's Literary Award and tons of other awards and honors from English Speaking Countries. In her 60 years' writing career, she has contributed 13 short story collections and one novel to the world Literature where Dear Life turns out to be the last short story collection. Alice Munro has experienced much migration in her life which later is reflected in her works and which also has earned some thoughts and inspiration for her works creation. As the commenting in a review of The View From Castle Rock (2006) in the London Guardian said, Karl Miller has written “But then the whole corpus of Munro’s stories is a memoir, the novel of her life.” Starting from Alice Munro’s earliest works, we could see her ancestors’ emigration from Scotland and their settlement in Ontario; her parents’ meeting,
