This thesis studies the present situation and problems of applying group cooperative learning in English class at junior high school level by means of questionnaires and interviews. According to the data collected, we can find out the problems and provide some suggestions for the better use of group cooperative learning. This thesis is helpful for the English teachers of junior high schools to check whether their application of group cooperative learning is effective or not, solve problems and difficulties in applying group cooperative learning during English classes, and think about other ways or suggestions to carry out group cooperative learning successfully.
