    A Study on the Game Teaching Method for Primary School English Learning

    Abstract This paper is a report on the findings of how game teaching method affected students’ motivation for Chinese primary students in EFL. It was carried out in the researcher’s internship in Hangzhou Cai He No. 2 primary school, from September to December in 2014. The study systematically works through questionnaire, in-class observation, and interviews in order to figure out how dose game based teaching motivate students’ learning and what factors affected students’ engagement when game teaching is used. It revealed some mitigating factors that affected the motivation when game teaching method was used. The findings indicate that teachers and students’ interactions is key factor to consider for a successful game based learning. Lastly, this paper explores the probability to integrate game teaching in ESL classroom in order to motivate primary school students in China.

     游戏教学在小学英语学习中的研究

    摘要本文致力于研究游戏教学在小学英语课堂中的运用如何影响英语学习动机。作者于年9月至12月在杭州市采荷第二小学作为英语老师实习。此研究于实习期间展开。研究方法包括问卷调查、课堂实况记录、访谈。这些研究方法旨在解决游戏教学的应用如何影响学生的学习动机,此外,那些因素影响学生在课堂教学中的参与也将在下文中讨论。研究表明游戏教学在课堂教学的应用中,学生对游戏指令的理解,教师对游戏过程的掌控`优尔~文-论+文'网www.youerw.com,以及教师对学生在游戏中表现的评价等都会影响游戏教学的效率。其中,老师与学生在游戏教学中的互动是成功开展游戏教学的关键。后文还讨论了为提高课堂教学效率融合游戏教学的可行性及在英语课堂教学中合理应用游戏教学的方法。
