It is not difficult to find that the success of the novel is closely related to the application of the rhetorical devices. That is to say, the rhetorical devices applied in the novel play an important role in embodying the theme of the novel, like self-redemption of the leading character, Amir. The argument why rhetorical devices are important in the novel lies in three aspects: the application of contrast, the application of repetition and the application of symbolism.
