Abstract Pragmastylistics is a hot topic in linguistic research. This thesis studies Emma Watson’s speech in the United Nations from the pragmastylistic perspective, aiming to find out its unique pragmastylistic features. Pragmastylistic analysis is conducted from two aspects: stylistic perspective and pragmatic perspective.58546

The stylistic analysis shows that the words in the speech, particularly specialized words and compounds, are closely linked to the theme of the speech—He for She. These words represent masculine, gender equality, feminism, and human rights. Furthermore, the application of sentences of varying length and complexity as well as rhetorical devices, like metaphor, personification, antithesis, dwell the speech a sense of beauty, vividness, and emotional resonance. At the same time, pragmatic analysis based on the Speech Act Theory and Cooperative Principle shows that Emma Watson has thoroughly and clearly expressed the intention of the speech—men should make their contributions to gender equality, with the combination of direct and indirect statements and the arrangement of the speech content in which both personal experiences and social reality are involved in correspondence with context of delivering the speech.

All in all, the pragmastylistic analysis of Emma Watson’s Speech in UN shows that the analysis based on pragmastylistic theories can not only help readers to appreciate the charm of a speech, but also provide a reference for people’s daily expressions and communications.

以艾玛·沃特森联合国演讲为例的语用文体分析

摘要语用文体学是最近语言学研究方面比较热门的话题。本论文以艾玛·沃特森在联合国的演讲为例，从语用文体学角度具体分析其演讲稿所体现的文体和语用特征。语用文体分析即从文体和语用两个角度开展的分析。

从文体分析中可以看出，演讲中的词汇尤其是特有词汇和复合词都紧扣此次演讲的主题——He for She。这些词主要体现了男性化、性别平等、女权主义以及人权的含义。而且，长短结合，繁简结合的各类句型，以及比喻、拟人、对仗等多种修辞手法的运用赋予了演讲美感，生动性，还易引起听众的情感共鸣。与此同时，基于言语行为理论和合作原则的语用分析说明了艾玛·沃特森深刻、清晰地表达了此次演讲的用意——男人应该为促进性别平等而做出自己的贡献。演讲中直接与间接相结合的语言表达、个人经历与社会现实相结合的内容安排都符合当时演讲的情境。

总而言之，从以艾玛·沃特森联合国演讲为例的语用文体分析结果可以看出，从语用文体角度分析演讲稿不仅可以帮助读者欣赏演讲的语言魅力，还可以为人们日常的语言表达和交际活动提供借鉴。
