To watch original English film of films dubbed with English without doubt will be beneficial to college students, especially for the English-major students and translation-majored students. At present, more and more colleges have launched the movie appreciation as one selective course or required course for English majored or translation-majored students, the reason for that is watching English movies will bring obvious increment to students English language capacity as well as translation ability. For the students who major in C-E or E-C translation, in order to effectively increase their translation ability, to watch abundant movies only is not necessary; also important to learn relative studies in which relative translation theory are employed interpret the subtitle translation. Only by combining movie watching with learning relative studies will students increase than translation ability be guaranteed to increase. Therefore, this thesis whose main content is about using communicative translation theory to analyze the subtitle translation of Kungfu Panda, is supposed to bring significant help to students of translation major.
This thesis consists of four parts. The first part is is introducing the research background and significance. The second part is literature review, in which the film subtitle translation and semantic and communicative translation theory will be introduced and relative studies will be reviewed. The part is the key of this thesis, in which the author was used the semantic and communicative theory to analyze the subtitle translation in Kung Fu Panda, the analysis will be made from geographical, custom and religious factors.
