AbstractBased on the Speech Act Theory, this research studies the use of praise in primary English teaching。 In this research, I choose a primary school in Xuzhou as the investigating sample。 By the methods of questionnaire, classroom observation and interview, I investigate and analyze the use of praise in primary English teaching。72323
The present research classifies problems in the use of the praise in the following five categories: 1) there are too much praise, lacking criticism; 2) the way of praise is single; 3) praise is monotonous and lack of specific content; 4) the object of praise is not fair; 5) teachers don’t seek truth from facts when praising。 Based on the problems above, the present research proposes four strategies on how to solve the problems。 The first one is building up right view on praise。 The second is carrying out persified praise。 The third is upgrading professional quality of teachers, The forth is strengthening teaching reflection, and the last one is using praise and criticism rationally。

摘 要本研究以言语行为理论为基础,对表扬在小学英语教学中的应用进行了研究,研究中选取了江苏省徐州市某小学为调查样本,通过调查问卷、课堂观察、访谈等方法,对小学英语教学中表扬进行调查和分析。
研究发现小学英语教师在应用表扬时存在许多问题,主要表现为以下几个方面:表扬使用过多,缺乏批评;表扬的方式比较单一;表扬的内容较单调,缺乏具体性;扬性的指向不公平;应用表扬时,部分教师不能够实事求是。针对以上问题,本研究进一步提出了改善表扬的策略,包括树立正确的表扬评价观;实施多样化的表扬;提升教师的专业素养;合理应用表扬与批评。
