Since 1990, modern information technology, which is represented by computers and the Internet, has begun to develop at a fast speed and entered almost every territories in the society。 Absolutely, once one new technology is introduced to some practice field, this field will witness a great change, even the revolution。 Now, modern information technology is introduced to the language teaching field。 The information transfer channels, the teaching contents, the teaching activities and the whole process of the traditional language teaching will experience a huge change。 Then the teaching forms, structures, and the main factors will change, which will promote the renewal of the teaching ideas, teaching values and judgments。 Due to these changes, we have to research how to combine the computers, networks and the language teaching, and explore the effective ways, methods and modes to make a better combination。 Especially under the situation that English teaching reform is being carried out in colleges, such researches are urgent and important。 论文网

1。2 Significance and purpose
It has aroused wide educational workers’ attention that there is a new teaching mode combining the information technology and basic education curriculum。 In the primary English teaching, it is academically and practically meaningful to enhance the effective application of modern information technology, especially for the multimedia technology and Internet technology。 The modern information technology successfully breaks the traditional boring teaching mode, explores students’ potentials and imagination, makes an active class atmosphere, lets students take part in the teaching, and combines what they have learned and the daily life, which can arouse students’ enthusiasm and desire to study and increase students’ communication abilities。
This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the application of modern information technology on English teaching in the primary school。 What’s more, this paper proposes some suggestions on the problems that exists in the multimedia teaching in this period with the purpose of giving a better service for English Teaching in primary school。
