Abstract English is a comprehensive and practical language which contains many levels, so it is very important to learn and master the pronunciation of English。 Wu dialect—— one of China’s seven major dialects, has many differences with English pronunciation in the aspects of voice, tone and so on。 So for the students who speak Wu Dialect, the learning environment which is full of dialect will have major obstacles in learning English pronunciation。 The transfer between languages is inevitable in foreign language learning。 This essay will focus on the analysis of the features of Wu dialect and expound the negative transfer of Wu Dialect on the learning of English pronunciation through examples, comparative analysis and other methods, and then put forward some effective teaching coping strategies。77259

With the development of globalization, foreign culture constantly enters into China and the Chinese trade, education, culture also constantly come into development and communication, so English has become the language of communication between nations。 In order to adapt to this trend, we must master English fluently and English has become a necessary language skill for Chinese students to learn。 But if you want to speak English fluently and perfectly, the key is to have an accurate speech to be the basic。 However, in our country, there are few people who can communicate fluently in English, and the influence on English pronunciation is worth studying in the surrounding environment。 Wu dialect, as China's second largest dialect, has a great difference in the pronunciation rules and phonetic features with English and has an important influence on the Wu students’ English pronunciation。 So this paper will focus on the analysis of Wu dialect’s pronunciation characteristics and then make contrast from the aspects of voice, tone, etc。 with English speech to sum up easily affected content of learning English and find out the countermeasures。
