Abstract The use of denominal verbs is a very common phenomenon in some languages。 Considered as an important form of word formation derived from zero, the English use of nouns is aimed to fill the gap in the expression of English verbs。 But Chinese often regard it as a kind of rhetoric manner。 The use of denominal nouns is a hot topic in the study of language scholars both at home and abroad。 Most studies are carried out based on the language system itself or pragmatics。 However, with the development and the rise of cognitive linguistics based on the experience of philosophy, inpiduals tend to be interested in the generation and understanding of the cognitive mechanism of noun use。 Traditionally, metonymy is regarded as a rhetorical device used in prose, fiction, poetry and other genres, which is not seen as a way to promote foreign language learning。 Furthermore, with the advent of Lakoff and  Johnson's Metaphors We Live By, metaphor and metonymy are no longer limited to the rhetorical means。 Lakoff and Johnson point out that metaphor and metonymy exist in everyone's daily life, which is a cognitive phenomenon and a mode of thinking。 As a way of thinking, vocabulary plays  an  important  role  in  foreign  language。  Metonymy  is  an  effective way to learn vocabularies。 This paper attempts to analyze the use of denominal nouns from the perspective of cognitive metonymy。79372

To be more specific, the use of English and Chinese nouns will be analyzed by using theories of cognitive metonymy and cognitive mechanism of denominal verbs in order to have a more systematic understanding  of English vocabulary  and  cognitive linguistics。

认知转喻视角下名词动用的研究 摘要名词动用是许多语言中的常见现象。英语把名词动用作为由零位派生实现的一 种重要构词手段,以填补英语动词表达的空缺,而汉语则常把它当作一种修辞格。 名词动用作为国内外的语言学者研究的热门话题,大部分研究针对语言系统本 身、或从语用等角度进行。随着以体验哲学为基础的认知语言学的发展和兴起, 人们对名词动用的产生和理解认知机制产生了兴趣。传统意义上,转喻只是被看 作是在散文、小说、诗歌等文体中使用的修辞手段,没有被看作是促进外语学习 的方法。然而,随着莱考夫和约翰逊的《我们赖以生存的隐喻》一书的问世。隐 喻和转喻不再仅限于文体的修辞手段。莱考夫和约翰逊指出隐喻和转喻存在于每 个人的日常生活中,它们是一种认知现象,是一种思维方式。作为一种思维方式, 对外语词汇起着重要的作用。转喻是一种有效的学习词汇的方法。本课题选择从 认知转喻的角度来分析名词的动用。作为一种思维方式,对外语词汇教学起着重 要的作用。转喻是一种有效的学习词汇的方法。因此,本文拟从认知的角度,运 用认知转喻理论,分析英汉名词动用转换的实例,探索名词动用的认知理据,以 便对英语词汇和认知语言学有一个更为系统的认识。
