Title Polybrominated diphenyl ethers on the toxicological effects of plant roots in the soil
Abstract
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) are ubiquitous used fire retardant in the world and have been concerned by people. The hydrophobia characteristics make them sink in the soils and have adverse effects on organisms. In this thesis, using the method of soil culture, by adding different concentrations of decabromodiphenyl ether (Decabromodiphenyl the Ether, BDE-209), determinate the BDE-209 content in the soil and ryegrass in different time periods, and the impact. on ryegrass growth and development. Studies have shown that the BDE-209 bio-accumulation of ryegrass increases as time extends, and was positively correlated with the initially added BDE-209 concentration in the soil . The enrichment of BDE-209 focused in the root epidermis. When the BDE-209 concentration changes from 50 to 100mg/kg, the growth and development of the ryegrass is significantly inhibited.
