1。 Introduction
It will be pleasantly surprised to find the phenomenon if you pay attention to the world civilization。 In virtue of the development of language, the world was promoted to move forward by cross-cultural communications and ideological collisions。 During the long history of human society, the development of translation is the inevitable result of the appearance of language。 Idiomatic expressions, the pith of language, are one of the oldest and most valuable forms of human culture。 In a sense, the preservation of civilization and the development of society should first owe to the translation of idiomatic expressions。论文网
Just as professor Liu Zhongde said “The culture contains and influences language, and language is an indispensable factor in culture。 At the same time, it also an indispensable tool for the preservation, exchange and profound consideration of culture。 Only by understanding the cultural connotations in the target language can we master and use it properly。” Idiomatic expressions, the unique way of expression, is the main incarnation of national cultural characteristics。 As An Advanced Oxford English-Chinese and Chinese-English Dictionary defines, “Idioms, a group of words, differ from the meanings of the inpidual words”。
Among them, the utilization rate of English is so high that the cultural communication between English and Chinese is omnipresent。 However, due to the existence of cultural differences between China and the West, it becomes more and more difficult to translate idiomatic expressions and grasp on the accuracy of translation。 In order to make translations of idiomatic expressions become a bridge among different culture, it is required that a translator must understand and study the cultural difference of different languages and improve cultural level of both languages。文献综述
