Culture and language are closely linked。 Where language is, there’s culture。 Where language teaching is, there’s culture teaching。 Therefore, we can’t think only higher grade touch on culture。 In short, culture is more and more important along with the increasing of language level and the gravity of culture teaching become more and more。
1。2 Purpose of the research文献综述
The most important aim of learning culture is to raise the students’ culture awareness and improve their communicative capacity。 Students not only learn culture by learning language but also comprehend the western viewpoints of life and values through articles on different kinds of topics。 Under the guidance of New English Curriculum Standard issued in 2001, there are so many cultural teaching themes in each unit of the teaching materials; the author manages to find a suitable means to make the teaching and learning of culture easily and unconsciously。 Then the key point arises that people growing up in different cultures tend to establish and accumulate different senses about different cultures。 Likely, A person who is well behaved in intercultural communication should have a better grasp of cultural knowledge or more foreign cultural knowledge than his native ones。 This paper tries to summarize the cultural content, especially the problems in culture teaching, and gives some suggestions。 The thesis has five chapters。
Chapter One, a general introduction to the background, including propose of the research。
Chapter Two, a literature review which introduces the specific contents and introduces the conceptual cultural teaching in an overview。
Chapter Three concerns on the existing problems of culture teaching。
Chapter Four gives some strategies and technique for culture teaching。
Chapter Five is the conclusion。
