Abstract  A Dream of Red Mansions marked the end of an era, but created a new age。 It is closely connected with the Chinese culture。 Different cultural concepts inevitably cause cultural collision and conflict, and, translators will be faced with various difficulties and obstacles in the process of translation。 In this situation, creative treason comes into existence for the purpose of achieving an ideal literary version。 This paper is intended to make a study of the two translators’ creative treason from the perspective of cultural difference reflected in the two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, and especially to explore the causes of the appearance of creative treason in the two versions by Hawkes and Yang Xianyi from three aspects: linguistic barriers, cultural barriers, religious barriers。 In addition, the thesis makes a comparative study of two translator’s creative treason in A Dream of Red Mansions in light of translation purpose and translation strategy of two versions。 Lastly, the paper illustrates the influence of translators’ subjectivity on literary translation。94783

摘要《红楼梦》 标志着一个时代的结束，也创造了一个新的纪元。她同中国文化紧密相连。不同的文化概念不可避免地会引起碰撞和冲突， 因此，译者会面临各种各样的困难和障碍。 在这种情况下，为了译出理想的文学作品，翻译过程中便出现了创造性叛逆。本文旨在从《红楼梦》两译本中反映出的文化差异视角浅析译者的创造性叛逆，阐释引起两译本产生创造性叛逆的原因，此外，本文还对比研究了《红楼梦》中译者的创造性叛逆现象。最后，本文阐释了译者的主体性对文学翻译的影响。
