    Abstract:Video materials are vivid, content-rich and can help students improve their study interests, broaden horizon and understand western culture. Now they are increasingly used in English teaching. But it is inevitable that teachers will make some mistakes in the process of using video to assist teaching. This thesis discovers the specific problems of the video-assisted college English teaching by questionnaire survey, combines the survey results and related literature and discusses some targeted strategies. It also proposes some limitations and recommendations of these literature. All of these studies are made to provide the effective reference for video-assisted college English teaching.29523

    影视资料辅助大学英语教学策略研究
    摘要:影视资料生动形象,内容丰富,具有提高学习兴趣、拓宽眼界及了解西方文等优点,现在逐渐地被应用于英语教学。但影视资料作为一种新型的教学工具,在使用过程中难免会出现一些问题。本文通过问卷调查,发现了影视资料辅助英语教学存在的具体问题,结合调查结果及有关参考文献探讨出针对性的策略,同时指出了这些研究的局限性和有待补充之处,为将来的教学提供有效地参考。

     A Study on the Strategy for Video-Assisted College English Teaching
    1.    Introduction
    English video is one of the language learning tools which provides an intuitive and vivid source of the language(陶爱霞 2006). It combines subtitles, voice, images and story elements to convey their meanings effectively. Video materials are ideal tools for assisting college English teaching, as they help the language learners by providing a special, interesting and effective learning method that integrates speaking, listening, writing, reading, and other language skills(高凯迪 2010).
    Nowadays, there are many exams at college, such as the CET-4 and CET-6. But too much attention of CET-4 and CET-6 will restrict the development of video-assisted teaching. In order to pass the exam, teachers will focus on the grammar teaching and ignore the comprehensive abilities of students. Meanwhile, video-assisted college English teaching is not easy. Hu Jun(扈珺2006) points out that the selection of video, the response of student and the preparation and teaching plan of teacher are very important, and a slight mistake may affect the classroom efficiency and quality, so it requires some strategies. By the way of questionnaire in college English teachers and learners, the author hopes know the opinion and specific experience of English learners and teachers, and find out the problem in video-assisted English teaching. Under the guidance of questionnaire and interview from teachers and students, this paper aims to summarize specific strategies of the video-assisted college English teaching, with the hope of providing the effective reference for video assisted college English teaching.
