    摘要学生听听力时往往只能听懂话语的字面意思,而不能理解其真正含义。虽然许多学生平时花不少时间进行英语听力练习的训练,但是收效甚微。要想准确理解说话者的真正含义,还必须了解会话的本质,找出会话中所隐含的信息,领会说话者的真正意图。本文采用文献资料法通过对初中生英语听力能力的分析,从语用学合作原则的角度出发,指出合作原则有助于提高学生的听力理解能力和语言使用技能。然后探讨了教师的教学方法,提出适当的教学方法。本文旨在帮助学生切实提高英语的听力能力,促进英语听力教学。33777

    Abstract Most students just understand the superficial meaning of utterances rather than the real meaning when they are in the listening class. Although they spend a lot of time in practicing listening, the results seem not to be satisfying. If students want to master the real meaning of the speaker, the nature of his words must be grasped. Therefore, the most important thing that the students have to do is finding out the implied information of the utterance and comprehending the true intention of the speaker. Through searching online,the paper points out that the Cooperative Principle contributes to improve the listening ability of the students and their ability to use language in a large part, by means of the analysis of the present situation of English listening in Junior High School and from the point of the Cooperative Principle. Besides, the appropriate teaching methods are discussed and put forward in this paper. The aim of this paper is going to improve the students’ listening competence and promote the English listening teaching.

    I. Introduction
    The American language philosopher Herbert Paul Grice noticed that conversation normally consists of a series of related words, according to the common characteristics of language communication. People are often in cooperation with each other in their daily conversations .In order to ensure the conversation go on smoothly during their conversations and achieve their common goal, both of them have a common aspiration, that is they can understand and coordinate with each other(Grice 47). Therefore, people have a tacit understanding in their communication, and a principle that they can observe. H. P. Grice called it COOPERATIVE PRINCIPLE or CP for short.
