Chapter One Introduction
1.1 General statement
Primary school language learners are commonly active and curious. The main emotional goal is to cultivate their positive attitude to learn language and develop interest gradually to use language. However, how can teachers stimulate students’ learning interest? The author thinks using emotional education in bilingual class is a good way. It embodies the “people-oriented” thinking.
With the continuous deepening of curriculum reform,more and more people are concerned about the status of language teaching, and emphasize emotional education for all students. In order to stimulate students’ interest, improve their confidence in language learning and cultivate their healthy emotional quality, people emphasize that emotional education should face all the students and pay attention to each student’s emotion, which can ultimately promote students’ all-round development.
1.2 Significance of research
New Curriculum Standard of Primary School English Compulsory Education puts forward the goal of developing students’ emotional attitude explicitly. It includes the related factors of interest and motivation, confidence and will, spirit of cooperation, which influence students’ learning process and effect. These positive emotions are all we should develop in the course of English teaching. The biggest feature of emotional teaching is that we should lay the same emphasis on knowledge and emotion. That is to say, when students acquire knowledge, their emotional quality can be improved. Emotional education helps to adjust learning attitude and establish confidence. At the same time, it helps to enhance driving force of learning and promote autonomy and the purpose of learning. Finally, we will achieve the common participation and harmonious development of teaching through emotional education. Emotional education will help students participate in language activities actively, improve the efficiency of language learning and form a sound personality.
