    I. Introduction 

    As we all know, English, as an international language, plays a vital role in intercultural communication and cooperation. It becomes more and more important with the fast pace of globalization and especially after China’s accession to WTO. The enthusiasm for English learning has spread widely 源!自`优尔~文)论(文]网[www.youerw.com and swiftly in China. In addition, the requirement to English learns’ level is much higher than before, which means that the possession of good reading, writing and testing capabilities is far from enough; nowadays, the comprehensive oral ability is one important condition for recruitment since many companies need its employees to communicate with foreigners.

    The statement above has proved the importance and necessity of cultivating students’ oral English ability. Thus, improving students’ oral ability, as one important teaching objective in English teaching, attracts more and more attention from scholars and researchers. However, the majority of college students in China have not realized the importance of oral English ability; they just pay attention to all kinds of English examinations and the advantages of obtaining relevant certificates when they look for a job. On the other hand, most of English examinations ignore the test for students’ oral ability, even as the National College Entrance Examination, such a high-profile and large-scale exam. Therefore, the importance of oral English has not been given due attention in practical English teaching and learning process. It is a vital topic that how to improve the extensive college students’ cognition to oral English and afterwards to improve their oral ability. Based on these questions mentioned above, this paper tries to make a research on the analysis on current situation of college students’ oral English, the positive influence of English movie to college students’ oral ability and advisable methods for students who are willing to use English movies to improve their oral ability .
