Abstract Sherlock Holmes set was written by Conan Doyle(1859~1930), known as “the bible of the Mystery novels”. It has been translated into 57 languages and it’s selling well all over the world. Conan Doyle is the most representative writer, playwright, being called “the father of British detective novels”. He also created it from multiple sides to reflect the British social problems. Doyle has his own unique writing and narrative style. In addition to the fascinating and sensational events, interpersonal jealousy, suspicion and hatred reflect the ugliness of human nature.
Arthur Conan Doyle is at the forefront of forensic innovation and criminal psychology. We can always find Holmes solve the cases by searching for clues which is derived from them. After Doyle’s death it was noted that: “Poisons, handwriting, stains, dust, footprint, traces of wheels, the shape and position of wounds, the theory of cryptogram, criminal inference--all these and other excellent methods which germinated in Conan Doyle’s fertile imagination are now part and parcel of every detective’s scientific equipment.”62110

1 Introduction
Sherlock Holmes set was written by Conan Doyle(1859~1930),known as “the bible of the Mystery novels”. He is the most representative writer, playwright, being called "the father of British detective novels". His detective stories make a tremendous contributions and it set a model for the world by structure, reasoning methods and conception, he is deserved to be the literature master.
1.1 The author and he’s background
Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was sent to the Roman Cathollc’s Jesuit preparatory school Hodder Place, Stonyhurst, at the age of nine. He then went on to Stonyhurst college until 1875. From 1875 to 1876 he was educated at the Jesuit school Stella Matutina in Feldkirch, Austria.
