Abstract Children’s literature is for children and the content is familiar to children in their social life. Reduplicated words belong to the children language, which are applied widely in the translation. Different from traditional theories, reception aesthetics is reader-centered and it puts emphasis on readers’ “horizon of expectation” and “Status of readers”. Therefore, readers can really accept the literature. So, this paper will carry out from reduplicated words’ three effective effects with examples extracted from the children’s literature, being analyzed with the reception aesthetics. It is concluded that reduplicated words fit children’s language style and can be applied to children’s literature translation, because of their beauty in the rhythm effect, imaging effect, and emotional effect. 66085

摘要儿童文学是以儿童读者而创作的文学作品,作品一般选用儿童熟悉的社会生活体裁,其内容适合儿童欣赏趣味和接受心理。叠词属于儿童语言,被广泛地运用到儿童文学翻译中。与传统理论不同,接受美学正是强调以读者为中心,重视读者的“期待视野”和“读者本位”,从而使读者真正接受文学作品。本文选取叠词的节奏效果、达情效果、图貌效果三个角度,运用接受美学分析儿童文学中符合以上三大功能的例句,最后得出结论叠词切合儿童语言风格,在英汉翻译中必要时可用叠词能增强语言的魅力,更易于儿童的接受,使得译文更具吸引力、更生动。

1. Introduction
As a kind of literature, children’s literature translation has not relatively got enough attention. Many translators use the language, welcomed by adults rather than by children. Usually, writers are adults and they observe the world with their specific experiences and views. As a bridge, translators need find a balance between writers and readers. So, the most important thing of translating children’s literature is using the children’s language to translate as naturally as possible. It is easy to choose some examples to make a very thorough analysis on the reduplicated words’ application. Reduplicated words belong to children language, which are widely applied in children’s literature. Reduplicated words have the rhythm effect, imaging effect and emotional effect, which can make the translation more attractive. According to the reception aesthetics, translators try to cater to children readers’ style and their abilities to read. Reduplicated words’ three effects fully reflect the reception aesthetics in the process of translation. The theme of this thesis is to analyze reduplicated words’ application in translation, which is from the view of reception aesthetics.文献综述
