Abstract The thesis is an empirical research on English reading teaching in high school based on constructivism. As time passes by and education gets promoted, creativity and motivation of learning have been stressed in 21st century. The student-centered and teacher-led conception has been advocated, which is consistent with the theories of constructivism. Therefore, it becomes more and more popular among English teachers. In fact, constructivism plays an important role in English reading teaching and has a positive effect. 71124
The thesis first briefly introduces the aims, the importance, the whole structure and the theories of constructivism, including some views, teaching discipline, and teaching models. The second chapter is literature review, mainly about some former investigations at home and abroad and the innovation of this thesis. The third part is methodology, containing questionnaire of students and interviews with teachers. This part shows the reliability and validity of the empirical research. The fourth chapter is the analysis of questionnaires and interviews, as well as some examples of English reading class applying constructivism. It uncovers that constructivism ( applied in English reading teaching and homework) has a positive effect on English teaching in high school. At last, there are some major findings, including some existing problems in practical teaching and some suggestions.

摘 要本论文主要研究建构zhuyi指导下的高中英语阅读教学。随着时代的进步和教育的不断革新,21世纪的高中英语教学要求我们把重点放在培养学生的自主学习、创新能力上,树立以学生为主体、教师为主导的科学教育理念。这一指导思想与建构zhuyi的相关观点不谋而合,因此建构zhuyi得到了越来越多英语老师的注意,在实际教学应用中也起到了极其重要且积极的作用。
论文的第一部分是对论文的目的、结构、重要性以及建构zhuyi相关理论观点、教学原则、教学模式的简单介绍。第二部分为研究现状,主要分析国内外相关研究现状以及本论文的创新点。第三部分方法论包括问卷调查和教师访谈,体现此次实证研究的真实性和客观性。第四部分主要分析整理问卷和访谈,得出结论——建构zhuyi(主要体现在英语阅读教学设计和课后作业设计中)对高中英语教育有非常积极的影响。同时举出了一些高中英语阅读课堂运用建构zhuyi教学的实例。最后总结高中英语阅读教学还存在的一些问题,提出相关的解决方案。

Chapter One Introduction
The thesis is a research on English reading teaching in high school based on constructivism. According to literature review, at present, English reading teaching in high school still exits a lot of problems, such as, all for examination-oriented education, a lack of context, and the solidified teaching strategies. However, at the same time, cultivating creativity and motivation of learning is stressed in 21st century. The new scientific teaching notion is advocated, which is student-centered and teacher-assisting.
