Using the conceptual metaphor, Zhang (2010) analyzes the internal reasons that cause the similarities and differences in two languages。 Some researchers focus on only one side rather than make a contrastive study。 Liu (2011) “carries on a comprehensive investigation in fire words, the basic level terms, in Chinese。 Based on the fire words gathered, we will generalize and analyze fire words structure, semantics, cognition and metaphor through Modern Chinese Lexicology。”

He (2003) probes into the core metaphors in water ad fire to discuss the cultural pergences in two countries。 But he makes the research in philosophical category rather than cognitive linguistic area。 

Few of the researchers have conduct a study to analyze the metaphor in those words in terms of Embodied Philosophy of conceptual as well as putting the two words water and fire together to make a comparison。
