A Study on the Development of College English Teachers' Information Technology Integration Ability

The “13th Five-year” planning of educational informatization released by the Ministry of Education, the reform of the college English curriculum, and many other factors are bringing increased demand for the development of informatization in college English teaching。 It has been a hot issue for the current teaching researches to find the answer of how to improve teachers’ e-teaching capacity。 Also, it has become an imperative requirement for all the college English teachers。
The present study has investigated the status quo of college English teachers' e-teaching capacity。 The results of the investigation show that most college English teachers are aware of the importance of technology in teaching, but many of them lack consciousness to employ information technology to pedagogical practice。 College English teachers feel urgent to improve the ability to integrate technology well into their English teaching, especially in searching, obtaining, identifying, selecting and processing English teaching materials online。 And the practical ability to employ e-teaching research is substantially immature。 From the perspective of information infrastructure, most teachers indicate that the college and government support for the development of e-teaching is inadequate。 And they express their expectation that the government will establish incentive mechanism and effective policies to encourage e-teaching in colleges。
According to the results of the survey, the present study provided practical strategies on the development of teachers' e-teaching capacity, such as uncovering the potentials of search engine to discover knowledge, applying Word Cloud and Corpus to integrate technology well into English teaching, learning online course proactively to facilitate the capacity of teaching research and so on。

摘 要当信息技术的触角踏入国门,虚拟的网络快速覆盖和渗透社会的各个领域,国家面向了国际,社会被引向全球,个体能眼观世界,信息化热流不可避免地蔓延至教育领域。

本研究就这一问题,对高校英语教师的信息化教学能力现状做了调查,发现了以下问题:教师们虽知悉信息技术在教学中的重要作用,但将信息技术应用于教学实践的意识普遍不高;掌握了对硬、软件信息工具的基本操作能力,但对信息检索、获取、筛选和处理的能力止步于一般水平;教师们缺乏将信息技术与英语学科知识相整合的能力,并且利用信息化科研增进教学的实践能力较低。此外在信息化建设方面,大多数教师认为学校及政府对信息化教学的支持度不够,没有良好的鼓励机制和专业培训,也影响到了教师信息化教学能力的发展。
根据调查结果,结合认知发现学习理论和多模态教学理论,本研究提出了探知搜索引擎的多重功能发现知识、利用词汇云图及语料库等软件将信息技术与英语教学知识有机整合、学习国内外网络课程提高信息化教学及科研能力等针对性的实际策略和建议。
