Many facts show that whether the use of Fuzzy Language is proper in Business English Negotiations will have a direct impact on the success or failure in negotiations。 So it can be seen that the Fuzzy Language, as a tool of language strategy and expression, plays an irreplaceable role in international business negotiations。

2。 Literature Review

Fuzzy Language is a good tool for communication between the two parties。 Up to now, scholars have studied Fuzzy Language in business negotiation from different angles。 Domestic and foreign scholars have found that the original semantic study cannot explain this language phenomenon, so they prefer to study the functions of business negotiation in a comprehensive in-depth analysis from the perspective of pragmatics and others。

Domestic research status: The researches of Fuzzy Language in business negotiation in domestic are mostly in the aspect of pragmatic function, as well as other perspectives。 In An Analysis on Pragmatic Functions of Fuzzy Language in International Business Negotiation, Liu Xiaodan focuses on the main functions of Fuzzy Language in international business negotiation that will make people realize the important role fuzziness plays in business negotiation (Liu 23)。 A comparatively dynamic and systematic research on Fuzzy Language has been conducted by Zhang Weifeng。 In his Elementary Analysis of the Pragmatic Function of the Vague Language in International Business Negotiation, he analyzes pragmatic functions of Fuzzy Language and states that it is necessary to use punctual and clear language so as to avoid misunderstanding, but proper use of vague language there, such as polite, mild and roundabout, can also play important roles and enhance better results (Zhang 99)。 Jia Aihua studies Fuzzy Language in business negotiation from the perspective of the adaptation Theory。 In her Adaptation Theory of Vague Language in English Business Negotiation, she points out that under the guidance of this theory, participants' using vague language in English business negotiation is greatly restricted by ingredients of the Adaptation Theory (Jia Adaptation 1)。 Through concrete interpretation of the vague language, it is found that adopting vague language in English business negotiation adapts to the mental world, the social world, and the physical world。 We can see that the researches of Fuzzy Language in business negotiation are comparatively new in China which have not been explored sufficiently。

Foreign research status: When talking about the fuzziness of language in Business English Negotiation, Kęstutis Peleckis says that in business negotiation, using vague language has been regarded as a kind of frequently-used and effective negotiation strategy to achieve certain communicative purpose (Kestutis 64)。 As one of the pragmatic strategies in business negotiation, vague language is of great importance which should be highly expected, which was written in Vague Language in Business Negotiation--From a Pragmatics Perspective。 In Understanding Pragmatics of Fuzzy Language in Negotiation, Verchueren, J。 points out that Fuzzy Language has its own unique semantic features, semantic content and pragmatic functions, which plays the role of regulation in the negotiation from the aspects of extent, scope and tone of conversations and writings (Verchueren 12)。

The scholars mentioned above have done many researches on Fuzzy Language in Business English Negotiation, which are mainly focused on their definition, motivation and pragmatic functions。 But this thesis will mainly discuss the application of different kinds of Fuzzy Language in different stages of Business English Negotiation, and we can find that the proper use of Fuzzy Language will promote the success of negotiations。
