However, the task-based language teaching mode emphasizes the dynamic development of the learning method, which takes the learner as the center, and the learning process is filled with psychological activities such as reflection, insight, and introspection。 The mode can reasonably be applied in English teaching in primary school, which will play an important role。 Therefore, the thesis expounds relative task-based language teaching theories and researches, analyzes the existing problems in primary school English teaching, and with the combination of the teaching practice mainly explores some strategies for a suitable and effective task-based language teaching mode。

A task refers to a range of work plans which have the overall purpose of facilitating language learning。 It has a particular objective, appropriate content, a specified working procedure, and a range of outcomes(Breen 23)。

The communicative task is a piece of classroom work which involves learners in comprehending, manipulating, producing or interacting in the target language while their attention is focused on meaning rather than do manipulate form(Nunan 10)。

Tasks are always activities where the target language is used by the learner for a communicative purpose in order to achieve an outcome(Willis 53)。

A task is an activity which requires learners to arrive at an outcome from given information through some process of thought, and which allows learners to control and regulate that process(Prabhu 17)。

Throughout the definitions above, it is generally agreed: 1) A task is an activity in which learners communicate with the target language in order to do something; 2) Communicative task is a kind of classroom activity which is related to the acceptance, absorption, understanding and use of the language knowledge。
